About Our Coaches
Sue Bullick - Head Coach
Coach Sue is our head coach. Sue is an NCCP National Level and a highly experienced coach with 30+ years of coaching experience. She has completed Gold and Diamond tests in various skating disciplines including FreeSkate, Artistic, Interpretive Dance, and Figure Skating Skills. In addition to her coaching, Sue holds various certificates including Power Skate and Star 1-Gold skill test evaluator. Sue is also a CanSkate Director, CanSkate University Graduate, and Canada Mentor Coach. With a Naturopath Diploma from Alternative College of Canada.
Sue believes health, wellness and fitness are of utmost importance. She is always eager to help and share advice. She is a strong believer in goal oriented training, development of a strong work ethic and the building of core life skills.
After skating (of course)… Sue adores the outdoors and all activities related, including running & obstacle racing, biking, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and dog walking. Willing to try most anything at least once.
Kathy Sutherland – Coach Kathy is a mentor coach for NCCP and has over 40 years of coaching experience. She has a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from the University of Toronto - specializing in sports training and sports medicine. Kathy has also received a Diploma in High Performance Coaching from the National Coaching Institute through the University of Calgary. She is also a Certified Sports Trainer in Taping and Strapping. She has received the Skate Canada National Club and Recreational Coach of the Year and is a Certified Essentials (level 4) Instructor.
Kathy has the ability to coach all disciplines specializing in Free Skate and Choreography and has coached many Star Skate and Competitive skaters to top 5 provincial placings in Ontario and Alberta, plus coached numerous skaters to triple/quadruple gold test status. She is also a Star 1-gold skill test evaluator.
She believes in coaching and promoting the all around skater, athlete and person. She love teams coaching and giving the athlete a team experience in this individual sport while helping them reach their highest of goals. She is also a promoter of skating for life and fun!
When not on the ice, she loves outdoor life – mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, paddle boarding and tennis are her most favourites. At home it’s reading, knitting and most recently playing the ukulele.
